Chevallier-Bernard, Jongieux, Mondeuse, Savoie, France, 2019Regular price £16.00
Mondeuse is an enigmatic grape and we're all about it. This is a fairly classic example; A crimson red wine with lovely, delicate aromas of red fruits (strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry), some floral, violet notes and a subtle spice. On the palate, the tannins are pretty high, but so is the acidity. best enjoyed slightly cooled, this wine is sumptuous and we want more.
Located in the foothills of the Alps, the Savoie represents one of the last, great undiscovered wine regions of France. The vineyards are widely dispersed, small communities, clustered together in the narrow alpine valleys. There are 29 communes located between the south shore of Lac Léman and the river Isère to the south-east of the region.
