Jordan 'Nine Yards' Chardonnay 2022

Jordan's Nine Yards Chardonnay is, undeniably, sexy. The ultimate expression of maximum effort and Jordan's outstanding terroir. This is a barrel selection from the finest vineyards in the Jordan portfolio and boy do they get The Whole Nine Yards worth of treatment. The juice was barrel-fermented in traditional new Burgundian styled French oak barrels “sur lie” for 12 months, with regular barrel rolling to accentuate the rich, leesy character. This is a rich, full and textured wine. The nose is bursting with aromas of peach and orange, supported by influence of the oak; butterscotch, cloves, and toast. The mouthfeel is rich and indulgent with leesy flavours of butter and cream. The wine finishes with long, lingering fruit character of melon and peach. 

Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines at this top estate since 1993 on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. Together this husband and wife team is a phenomenon. Gary’s parents, Ted and Sheelagh, bought the 164 hectare Stellenbosch property in 1982, and embarked on an extensive replanting programme, specialising in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes.
