Ruby coloured with sweet bright red fruits and herby aromas. The nose is a fresh smelling as the palate is clean and bright. There's a clear minerality (we can debate the word and its validity as a wine jargon another time) - probably a result of the limestone rich soils on which the vines are established - and the freshness, likely a result of the 850m elevation.
Once famous for its wines in the 19th century, Siatista is now a remote and relatively unknown wine region in the north of Greece. Dimitris Diamantis focuses on producing terroir-driven wines from indigenous varieties and both old bush vines and new plantings on their 12ha of rocky, limestone soil.
