You may or may not know much about wines from mountainous regions – and before you ask, it’s not just about the altitude! That’s what we’re delving into tonight, exploring the wines shaped by the dramatic landscapes of places like Piedmont, Ribeira Sacra, Douro, Mendoza, and the Pyrenees, where the terrain is as vital as the winemaking.
From the steep terraces of Spain’s Ribeira Sacra to the high-altitude vineyards of Argentina’s Mendoza, mountain wines are born from harsh conditions. The cooler temperatures, rocky soils, and steep slopes push the vines to produce grapes with intense flavours and vibrant acidity. These wines are an unfiltered expression of their environment, showcasing bright minerality, fresh fruit, and remarkable complexity.
But is it the altitude alone that makes these wines special, or is it the unique bond between nature and winemaking that sets them apart?
Hosted by Evelyn, join us for an evening of discovery, where we'll taste some of the most intriguing and unpredictable wines from around the globe. Whether you're a seasoned sipper or a curious newcomer, tonight is all about embracing the unexpected in every glass.

- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor bathroom and tasting room isn't overly forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. So sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
