Super Chenin. The world's best variety? Importer Richard Kelley MW sure thinks so. This is a super fresh style - loads of green pear, apple and zesty fruits on the nose. The palate is much the same, but with a bit of weight and some stoney minerality. Fruits appear a bit riper and warmer...
A note from importer, Rick (the alter ego of Richard Kelley, MW, one of the world's foremost experts on the subject of South African wine):
"Beyond the periphery of South Africa’s conventional vineyard regions lie great vinous treasures, resigned to anonymity; forgotten, abandoned or just simply undiscovered. It is the mission of Rick, our intrepid Cape Crusader, to seek out and liberate these rare wines, consigning them to the table of the most inquisitive and discerning imbiber. Each episode represents a single discovery; a precious parcel that is both unique and finite".
Whilst the above is true for the vast majority of Rick's episodes, The Francophile series are wines that Rick intends to be consistent, year on year. This Chenin Blanc is purposely a little different to the identikit Chenin's at this price point, made more in the style of a classic Loire Valley wine.

You will receive an automated confirmation on ordering. It is unavoidable that wines will sometimes be out of stock, so we will always contact you to advise a delivery estimate in this case. Deliveries are normally made weekdays before 4pm. Unsuccessful deliveries will be attempted the next working day if nobody is available to accept the delivery, unless you specify a place to leave the shipment in this case. If a request is made for wine to be left unattended, Vino Gusto will not be held responsible if the wine goes missing after the courier has delivered it. If a delivery has not arrived in the timeframe, please let us know. Although the courier should tell us if there are any breakages, please let us know of any damage within 24 hours of receipt, so we can investigate.
Please also be sure to check the number of cases for which you are signing; we cannot replace wine that has been signed for but not received.
