100% Grenache Blanc from one of the very best producers of South Africa. A wonderfully full wine, in both flavour generosity and weight. Delicate white flowers, peach and a touch of nectarine. The palate has a lovely waxy texture and in nice and round. Delish.
It was important that The Liberator should, in some small way, mark the events to date of the year 2020:
Titled after an English ballad which was first published on a broadside in the middle of the 1640s in protest against Government policy on the commemoration of Christmas. The Parliament of the day believed the holiday should be a solemn occasion and outlawed traditional Christmas celebrations.
"A briefe defcription of the ridiculous Fafhions of thefe diftracted Times"
A note from importer, Rick (the alter ego of Richard Kelley, MW, one of the world's foremost experts on the subject of South African wine):
"Beyond the periphery of South Africa’s conventional vineyard regions lie great vinous treasures, resigned to anonymity; forgotten, abandoned or just simply undiscovered. It is the mission of Rick, our intrepid Cape Crusader, to seek out and liberate these rare wines, consigning them to the table of the most inquisitive and discerning imbiber. Each episode represents a single discovery; a precious parcel that is both unique and finite".
