Grown in the schist soils of Burgenland (Austria), this wine is mineral, savoury and velvety. Super aromatic with loads of violet and rose petals jumping out, big crunchy red fruits on the palate and a pronounced, spicy charcter.
Wein Goutte! is the project of two former cooking professionals who fell in love with wine - Emily Campeau and Christoph Müller. Emily is the Wine Director of Restaurant Candide in Montreal, since 2016 and up to this day, working remotely from her home in Europe. Christoph has studied Oenology and Viticulture in Neustadt, Germany and worked for Clemens Busch for a few years, before becoming a full-time member of the Weninger team where he officiates as a cellar master.
'We were just trying to make bread rolls one night and watching Youtube videos about how to fold them right like all bread nerds do, when we found this baker that was karaté schlag-ing each fold to make it look nice. We watched it 100 times, we laughed a lot trying to practice our schlags, our rolls still looked like shit, but the expression stuck with us. If you’re into bread, you can watch how to fold here, but we recommend not drinking too much wine at the same time'.
