- In stock, ready to ship
Join us at casa VG on Friday 21st June for a special shop floor tasting with Tom Prior of Radford Dale Winery.
Originally from Suffolk, Tom made the move to the Cape in 2012, captivated by the landscape, people and the new generation of SA wine. For this tasting we’ll be looking through the wines of Radford Dale, with a line-up of their focal white varietals, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc from coastal, maritime influenced Stellenbosch. Plus, a selection of reds to show the diversity, heritage and future of SA vineyards.
Radford Dale was founded in 1998 by Alex Dale, another Brit, who had grown up and worked in Burgundy ahead of relocating to SA. The concept (akin to Burgundy) was to have a winery base and go out in search of exciting single vineyard parcels and sustainable growers from which to farm and produce wine. In 2021, RD were fortunate enough to purchase our first estate and vineyards, up in our preferred cool climate of Elgin. The only certified organic vineyard in the valley.
Radford Dale are known for our old vine expressions of Chenin Blanc, championing of Elgin Pinot Noir, a progressive take on Pinotage and refreshing red varietals such as Gamay.
Please note, this is not a formal, sit down tasting. It will be a fun, casual tasting on our shop floor in walk-around style with decent pours! There are a few stools to perch on, of course and we'll have some nibbles in the way of charcuterie boards to keep your palate nice and awake!

Please confirm when booking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. We'll do our best to accommodate.
No physical ticket required, just bring a copy of your order confirmation (on a phone is fine).
Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
Tickets are non-refundable.
We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor tasting room and bathroom isn't overly forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. So sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
