WHY WE LOVE IT
Giants Steps are masters at Aussie Pinot and their first foray into the land of Tasmania is a wonderful success. This Pinot is indulgent and succulent. Great depth of concentrated black-cherry flavour with terrific length and assertive but nicely balanced tannins. A very impressive Pinot, at the richer end of the Aussie style.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Giant Steps was founded by Phil Sexton in 1997. It has since forged a reputation for making some of the Australia's most consistently exciting wines from estate-owned vineyards. The Giant Steps Single Vineyard wines are produced from their best sites in great years. Head winemaker Steve Flamsteed and his team aim to express the character of the vineyard, grape and vintage in each wine, through meticulous work in the vineyard and minimum intervention in the winery.
New to the range in 2022 is the ‘Fatal Shore’ Pinot Noir from Tasmania. Despite the cool temperatures in the Coal River Valley, the sunlight hours are long and intense and produce a Pinot Noir with depth and precision. Made using the same, gentle winemaking approach as the other Single-Vineyard wines, ‘Fatal Shore’ impresses for its earthy, crunchy cool-fruit profile and detailed finish.
