A light and easy drinking Rioja with subtle spicy, toasty flavours. Cherries, redcurrant and plum. There are touches of cloves, vanilla and star anise. Bodegas Perica Reserva is a lovely approachable Rioja, the balance of fruit, oak and acidity is really refreshing considering the Rioja wines on the UK market are either fruit bombs or over-oaked and the pricing is rarely in-line with the quality.
Bodegas Perica is a Family winery, established in 1912. They own over 140 acres of vineyards in the best areas of Rioja Alta. "Perica" was the nickname of David Garcia, the son of the founder of the bodega and is responsible for maintaining old Rioja traditions and keeping his family estate at the peak of Rioja quality. This is the oldest family-run Bodega in San Asensio and we love all their wines
