'Mighty Blighty' Mixed Case (6 bottles)
English wine has been making remarkable strides, and it's no secret that it's only getting better. While sparkling wine has long been a standout, the quality of still whites and reds is also reaching impressive new heights. We’ve picked out some of our favourites so you can dive in and take your taste buds on a little tour of England’s finest juice.
Case includes a bottle of each of the following:
Flint Vineyard Bacchus 'Fumé' 2023
This wine greets you with aromas of ripe pear, English apple, violets, and a touch of Turkish delight. On the palate, you’ll find it soft and textured, yet fresh and crisp, with flavours of biscuit and almonds adding layers of complexity. The barrels are used to enhance the wine’s aromatics and softness without adding heavy oak, giving Bacchus a Riesling-like character that shines in the 2023 Fumé. Behind it all is winemaker Ben Witchell, who we think is a genius when it comes to English wine. One to watch!
Burnt House Chardonnay 2023
Aromas of orchard fruit, citrus and honeysuckle. Golden in colour with subtle hints of oak shows spice and a buttery finish. Burnt House, the closest Vineyard to VG, is a family-run vineyard in the heart of Suffolk who are passionate about producing wines that truly reflect the unique terroir of our countryside.
Flint Vineyard 'Charmat Rose' 2023
One sip of this and you'll be hooked. Promise. Flint were the first producer in the UK to start fermenting a sparkling wine using the Charmat method of production. It is full of red berry fruits and sassy acidity and has been described by Matthew Jukes as a ‘dreamy stunner’ and ‘the best wine in the world made by this method’.
Rathfinny 'Classic Cuvee' 2019
Rathfinny is a smart estate, producing some of the country's best estate grown, traditional method, vintage wines. The Classic Cuvee has a lovely balance of fresh citrus and toasty richness from extended ageing. Refreshing and moreish, with zesty grapefruit, red apple and a touch of brioche. Creamy and luscious
Burnt House Pinot Noir 2023
This is everything you’d want from a classic Pinot Noir, with flavours that remind you of a young Burgundy. Grown in the Suffolk countryside, it’s packed with bright red fruits and a hint of earthiness, perfectly capturing the charm of its English roots.
Flint Vineyard Pinot Noir 'Précoce' 2023
Pinot Noir Précoce is an early-ripening variety that thrives in England's climate, producing smooth, flavourful red wines similar to a Beaujolais Cru. Made by Ben at Flint using a mix of French techniques, the wine combines whole bunches and crushed berries during fermentation, then ages in neutral oak barrels for six months. With low acidity and soft tannins, it offers a silky texture, bursting with sour cherry fruit and a touch of spice, along with a gentle earthy, toasty background. While it's enjoyable right away, like a great Beaujolais, it can also age beautifully.
