The wine has spent six months making love to small oak barrels, giving it a touch of deliciousness. This is equally scrumptious as an afterwork tipple, as it is with a rib of beef on a Sunday. The Iris Malbec is made by Bodegas Staphyle, which is owned by the Porretta family. They realised their winemaking dream in 2002 having rebuilt their 1930s winery. A relatively small Bodega in todays world, they are based in Carrodilla, Luyan de Cuyo, just on the outskirts of Mendoza, Argentina. They have prime site vineyards, planted with red and white grape varieties. Everything is done manually on the farm, with a high attention to detail.
