The flagship of the Pegaso range. Arrebatacapas comes from a steep, bush-trained Garnacha plot planted way back in 1953. Sitting at a lofty 1,050 meters and farmed organically, this 2.1-hectare vineyard is surrounded by juniper, rosemary, and lavender, which probably explains its wildly aromatic nature. But what really sets it apart? Its rare slate soil (almost underheard of in Sierra de Gredos), laced with veins of quartz for extra personality.
This Garnacha is all about elegance and fragrance, with fine, delicate tannins wrapped around a light-coloured yet incredibly expressive core. The nose is full of adventure - think raspberries, black cherries, hibiscus, and fresh herbs. Full-bodied yet effortlessly refined, it delivers juicy vibrance with a subtle crispness and a savoury streak, all hinting at its impressive ageing potential.
