Monastrell is the Spanish name for the Mourvèdre grape and it thrives in hot regions like Jumilla. This example, from family owned winery Alceno, is ripe, fruity & delicious. Enjoy this with a few plates of meaty tapas. Aromas of blackcurrant and soft blackberry that follow on to the palate where the dark fruit mingles with peppery spice to create a very pleasing, well-rounded and easy drinking wine.
