If you've ever dismissed English wine as a bit of a novelty, Flint Vineyard might just change your mind.
Join us as we welcome Dan Kirby of Flint Vineyard, for an evening exploring one of the most innovative wineries in the country. Based on the Norfolk and Suffolk border, Flint has earned a cult following for wines that are precise and packed with personality. Their Bacchus has become something of a benchmark for the grape, while their Silex and 'Charmat' sparkling wines continue to raise the bar for English wine.
Ben Witchell, founder and winemaker, journey into wine is an unusual one. After leaving a career in technology to study winemaking and gain experience in France, he returned home with a clear vision: to create world class wines that reflect the unique character of East Anglia.
We'll taste through a range of Flint wines while hearing the story behind the vineyard, their approach to winemaking, and why this corner of England is proving so well suited to producing exceptional wines.
Whether you're already flying the flag for English wine or simply curious to see what all the fuss is about, this promises to be a fascinating evening.
As always, cheese, charcuterie and plenty of wine chat included.
