Why You'll Love It
Champagne is the only place in the world where they are 'permitted' to make a Rose by mixing Red and White wine before it's second fermentation in bottle. In effect, it's about 2% red wine but it has a huge effect on the colour. As you pour this bottle it feels like you have upped the saturation on the world.
Don't be fooled though, its baby pink hue hides a truly grown up wine. It is big, bold, rich and exciting. Wild strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant are backed up by a bright pink grapefruit. Once you have got over how wonderful the fruity flavours are, you realise your mouth is full of toast, brioche and aromas reminiscent of a Wooster's croissant. It is marvellous.
Pair it with tuna tartare, duck breast, roast salmon or a bowl of fresh summer berries.

About The Producer
The Delavenne family has been making Champagne in the Grand Cru village of Bouzy for four generations. Today, Jean-Christophe Delavenne oversees around 10 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards, farming sustainably with an emphasis on healthy soils, indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention in the cellar. Every plot is vinified separately before blending, allowing each vineyard to contribute its own personality to the finished wine. Their Champagnes have quietly built a devoted following among sommeliers and collectors for combining the richness of Bouzy Pinot Noir with the finesse and precision that define the very best grower Champagnes.
Winemaking Information
Rosé Marne is produced entirely from Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy and Ambonnay, blending Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with a proportion of the estate's own Bouzy Rouge to achieve both its colour and remarkable depth of flavour. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts, with no malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness and precision. The wine is bottled for its second fermentation and spends at least 36 months ageing on its lees, creating a fine, persistent mousse and layers of complexity before being finished with a Brut dosage of 9g/L.
