About The Producer
Founded by Mark and Sarah Driver in 2010, Rathfinny has quickly established itself as one of England's benchmark sparkling wine producers. Set on a spectacular south-facing slope in the South Downs National Park, the estate is dedicated exclusively to producing vintage Sussex sparkling wines from its own vineyards. Sustainability sits at the heart of everything they do, from regenerative farming to becoming one of England's first B Corp-certified wine estates. Today, Rathfinny is recognised around the world for producing elegant, terroir-driven sparkling wines that confidently stand alongside the very best from Champagne.
Winemaking Information
All of the fruit for Rathfinny Rosé comes from the family's single estate in the South Downs of Sussex, where the chalk soils bear more than a passing resemblance to those of Champagne. The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-bunch pressed before fermentation in stainless steel, with a small proportion of Pinot Noir aged in old French oak to add colour and complexity. Following bottling, the wine spends a minimum of 36 months ageing on its lees before disgorgement with a low dosage, producing a sparkling wine of remarkable finesse and precision.
