Koehler-Ruprecht 'Kallstadter' Riesling Kabinett Trocken 2022

Ultra pure and immensely crisp, this is a classic. Packed full of pink grapefruit and lime aromas, it explodes from the glass. On the palate, the wine is electric. Loads of juicy fruit flavours ride a long, salty acidity for an eternity. Many dimensions to unpack here, best done so alongside a pan roasted pork chop and some zingy apple sauce. 

Founded in the 1700s, Koehler-Ruprecht built a reputation for its quality dry Rieslings in Kallstadt long before the style found popularity. The Spätlese and Auslese Trocken designations mean a lot here (not surprising considering they practically invented them) – so much so that they pulled out of the VDP when authorities banned the practice of declaring both the pradikat and the word trocken on a label at the same time.
