Westcott Vineyards 'Butlers' Grant' Cabernet Franc 2020

At once full of rich dark fruit, but lifted up by some sweet scents of cherries and blueberries. Lovely and fresh of the palate with back cherry, cocoa and a touch of peppery spice. The finish is amazingly long and spicy. Just wonderful with roasted lamb, mushroom risotto or, as we were treated to at last visit, a T-bone steak.

In a recent visit to see the team at Westcott Vineyards, this wine showed so beautifully, as to genuinely evoke tears from one member of our party. Or perhaps, it was a culmination of the beautiful setting, wonderful hospitality AND stunning wine that made emotions run high.

Carolyn Hurst and Grant Westcott are the current proprietors of Butlers' Grant, a revered site on the Twenty Mile Bench, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada. The sites has been farmed since 1834. Planted mostly with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the small plot Cabernet Franc sits closest to the very grand house on the estate and is diligently guarded by Nelly, the vineyard dog.
