Join team VG for our booziest tasting yet with an evening devoted to the dangerously delicious duo - Cheese and Fortified wine!
We’re teaming up with Nic Walker (ex-chef, ex-cheesemaker, now full-blown cheesemonger and part-time cheese evangelist) to lead us through a night of bold flavours, big personalities, and even bigger pours. No need to brush up on your WSET notes or know your Gruyère from your Comté. All you need is a curious palate, a healthy appetite, and a flexible relationship with moderation...
We’ll be tasting six stunning artisan cheeses from across Britain and Europe each chosen at the height of its seasonal glory. Every cheese will be paired with a fortified wine that’s guaranteed to make the match sing—or swoon, depending on your pour. Think Port, Madeira, Sherry… and maybe even a surprise or two.

- Please arrive at 18:50 for a 19:00 start. The tastings usually last for around two hours.
- No physical ticket required, just bring a copy of your order confirmation (on a phone is fine).
- Please confirm when booking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. Please note that our cheese & wine tastings cannot be tailored to accommodate strict vegetarian diets due to the nature of our presentation.
- Strictly no under 18's.
- Tickets are non-refundable.
- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor bathroom and tasting room isn't overly forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. So sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
