- Backordered, shipping soon
Join us for a long anticipated shop floor tasting as we welcome back our friend, Kirsten Searle of Matawhero, to take us through a selection of wines.
Based in Gisborne on New Zealand's North Island, Matawhero is a winery with serious pedigree. Founded in the 1960s by two of the country’s wine pioneers, it's now in the hands of Kirsten and her husband Richard, who’ve been quietly producing some of New Zealand’s most distinctive white wines since taking over in 2008.
On the night, Kirsten will be pouring a brilliant line-up of Matawhero’s whites. Expect expressive Sauvignon Blanc, richly textured Chardonnay, aromatic Gewürztraminer, and fresh, juicy Pinot Gris. If you’re a fan of New Zealand whites with character and clarity, this is well worth popping in for.
Come taste, chat, and discover what makes Gisborne such a standout region.

- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
