You know when you drink a delicious wine on holiday, bring a bottle home, open it a few weeks later and realise it was mainly the sunshine doing the heavy lifting? Well thankfully, these wines actually taste this amazing in the UK too!
Join us for a shop floor tasting as we welcome Valentina Zavatta of The Wine People, wine specialists based in Italy, for an evening exploring the wines of Cortese, created by third generation brother and sister duo Stefano and Marina Girelli.
Part of the wider co operative project of The Wine People, Cortese focuses on organic, sustainable wines that capture everything we love about modern Italian wine. Freshness, personality, drinkability and the sort of Mediterranean charm that makes you instantly want to book a holiday to Italy.
These have very quickly become our new favourites and you'll soon see why. Expect a relaxed tasting, sharing stories of the wine makers and of course plentiful cheese and charcuterie to mop up the wines.
The best part? These bottles are already in the Shop, waiting for you to book a ticket. So if you are on holiday or jetting off soon, leave that plonk behind and use the extra space to cart that giant inflatable you've inevitably bought for the kids.
Good wine. Good people. No excess baggage.

- No physical ticket required, just bring a copy of your order confirmation (on a phone is fine).
- Please confirm when booking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. Please note that our cheese & wine tastings cannot be tailored to accommodate strict vegetarian diets due to the nature of our presentation.
- Strictly no under 18's.
- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
