Join us for a vibrant celebration of springtime cheeses and wines. This season bursts with fresh flavours, perfectly timed for the release of some of the finest English wines. Prepare for an indulgent evening that honours the very best of British springtime produce, hosted by the team at VG alongside renowned cheese consultant Nic Walker.
Many of you may recognise Nic as the town's beloved indie cheesemonger until late 2022. From chef to cheesemaker, cheesemonger to writer and critic, Nic brings a wealth of passion and expertise to the table.
Together, we’ll savour six exquisite artisan goat’s and ewe’s cheeses from Britain’s most celebrated dairies, expertly paired with outstanding wines from top producers. Expect to learn a little, laugh a lot, and relish every moment of this delightful seasonal experience.

- Please arrive at 18:50 for a 19:00 start. The tastings usually last for around two hours.
- No physical ticket required, just bring a copy of your order confirmation (on a phone is fine).
- Please confirm when booking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. Please note that our cheese & wine tastings cannot be tailored to accommodate strict vegetarian diets due to the nature of our presentation.
- Strictly no under 18's.
- Tickets are non-refundable.
- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor bathroom and tasting room isn't overly forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. So sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
