For fans of cool, new world, modern classics, this is not a tasting to miss. We'll be in the wonderful hands of Tom Hicks from The Hedonist Wine and Damian Shaw of Philip Shaw Wine, two pioneering cool climate, terroir focused producers from Australia. Each will be showing four wines from their revered portfolios.
Philip Shaw has been making wine for 56 years. Twice International Winemaker of the Year and Australian Winemaker of the Year. The wines are estate grown and made at Koomooloo Vineyard. Sitting in one of the coolest and highest growing regions in Australia, Orange. The vineyard is unique for Australia with over 10 passes by hand. All the grapes are hand sorted into the winery. Delivering wines of elegance, structure, power and the stamp of the dirt! The land is farmed sustainably, creating an environment today better than yesterday. Grapes are guided through to wine with as little intervention as possible! They know the journey.
Walter Clappis has been making wine in McLaren Vale for near on 40 years and has won innumerable trophies and gold medals, including the prestigious George Mackey Memorial Trophy with his '09 The Hedonist Shiraz, chosen as the best wine exported from Australia that year. Daughter Kimberly and son-in-law James Cooter support him on the winery floor. The certified organic and biodynamic estate plantings of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, tempranillo and grenache are the cornerstones of the business.
As always, there will be light nibbles to share.

- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor bathroom and tasting room isn't overly forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. So sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
