Join us for a trip back to where it all began, tasting wines that connect straight to the roots of winemaking. Expect Georgia’s iconic qvevri wines (fermented in clay pots buried underground, as you do) alongside characterful Romanian or Bulgarian bottles made from grapes you’ve probably never heard of but will absolutely want to drink again. Think texture, spice, wild edges and loads of personality.
Hosted by Henry of team VG, this is one for the curious drinkers, the history nerds, and anyone who likes their wine with a story as good as the flavour. We’ll keep it relaxed, informative and delicious, with a few nibbles on the side and plenty in your glass.

- Tickets cancelled within 72 hours of the event are non-refundable.
- Please arrive at 18:50 for a 19:00 start. The tastings usually last for around two hours.
- No physical ticket required, just bring a copy of your order confirmation (on a phone is fine).
- Please confirm when booking if you have any allergies or dietary requirements. Please note that our cheese & wine tastings cannot be tailored to accommodate strict vegetarian diets due to the nature of our presentation.
- Strictly no under 18's.
- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
