Bodegas Zinio 'Street Art' Tempranillo & Graciano 2020

I can say with first hand experience that this is dream with suckling pig. Because that's exactly what they served it with at the winery. This is fresh, modern Rioja. On the nose, fresh red fruit with hints of liquorice, flowers and herbs. A little fruitier on the palate with intense notes of cherry, black currant and raspberry. Soft and silky tannins balanced nicely with a refreshing, lifted acidity makes this wonderful with fatty foods, like suckling pig!

Having just returned from Rioja and Bodegas Zinio, I can say without hesitation that I have never experienced a winery tour so immersive and fun. From videos projected high onto 20,000L fermentation tanks, to allowing us to be involved with blending, we found a winery with genuine passion and excitement for their product. 

Created in 1986 ZINIO Bodegas was established as a cooperative by 200 viticulturalists who made their land available to the winery. Positioned in the heart of the Rioja Alta, in the Najerilla valley; the vineyard is surrounded by mountains both to the north by Sierra Cantabria and to the south by Sierra de la Demanda. In addition, the Ebro river to the north and its tributaries the Najerilla river to the west and the Yalde to the south; that exert a strong influence on the character of our vineyards, which extends to over 450 hectares around the winery.

The winemaking team is lead by Carmelo Cámara. Their core belief is that wine is made in the vineyard, and this belief drives everything they do. Cámara's addition to this winery represents a significant step in the pursuit of
excellence and innovation in wine production.
