Bordeaux vs Burgundy // Thursday 4th June 2026 // VG Tasting Room // 7pm

Two of France’s heavyweights, very different approaches, and one big question… which do you prefer? Bordeaux builds blends with structure and power. Burgundy keeps things focused, all about Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, finesse over force. Same country, completely different mindset.
Henry, your host for the night, will guide you through six wines that put these regions side by side. We’ll taste classic Bordeaux blends next to Burgundian counterparts, comparing structure, texture, fruit and balance as we go. It’s not about right or wrong, it’s about what’s in your glass and what you enjoy drinking.
This is a relaxed, sit down tasting with a small group, so there’s plenty of time to ask questions and get stuck in. We’ll pour six wines alongside cheese, charcuterie and bread, keeping things simple and delicious.
If you’ve ever wondered where you land in the Bordeaux vs Burgundy debate, this is your chance to find out.

- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
