Rich, velvety Bordeaux from a superb estate. And great value if you consider the fame of their neighbours, Saint-Julien, in the Haut-Médoc. This is meaty and plummy, with a good amount of blackcurrant and a whiff of tobacco. Just a touch of school pencil case going on, and lovely firm tannins make this wine feel bold and grown-up Brilliant Bordeaux, striking the balance between classic and modern. Outstanding with roast beef on a Sunday lunch.
