The outstanding 2009 Bordeaux vintage produced wines of exceptional richness and generosity, and Château de Lussac is a wonderful example of that success. After more than 15 years in bottle, the youthful black fruit has evolved into layers of cassis, plum, cedar, tobacco, leather and gentle spice, while the tannins have softened into a beautifully smooth, velvety texture.

Presented in an impressive 3-litre double magnum (in individual wooden cases) it will age even more gracefully than a standard bottle, making it ideal for celebrations, birthdays or memorable dinners. Decant for an hour before serving alongside roast beef, slow-cooked lamb or mature hard cheeses.
About The Producer
Founded in 1876, Château de Lussac is one of the flagship estates of the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation. Since 2000, the estate has undergone extensive investment, transforming it into one of the leading producers within Saint-Émilion's satellite appellations. Around 30 hectares of mature vines grow on well-drained clay-limestone slopes, where Merlot thrives, producing generous yet elegant wines with genuine ageing potential. The estate combines traditional Bordeaux winemaking with modern cellar technology, always aiming to express the character of its historic terroir.
Winemaking Information
Produced in the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation on Bordeaux's Right Bank, Château de Lussac is planted predominantly to Merlot with Cabernet Franc on clay-limestone soils. The 2009 vintage is approximately 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks before ageing in a combination of French oak barrels (around 30% new oak) and tank, creating a wine that balances ripe fruit with refined oak influence and freshness.
