Domaine Hippolyte Reverdy Sancerre 2023

I've tasted a lot of Sancerre, but not many of this quality. As one of the most classic regions of France, it is a shame that lots of the juice coming from the appellation is bland and ubiquitous. But here, at Domaine Hippolyte Reverdy, the wines are electric and exciting. With notes of freshly picked spring flowers, lime and a zesty, mineral finish, this is a real treat wine if you love the classics. Quite something alongside a good cheeseboard, or indeed it wakes everybody up at apero hour... 

There are half a dozen or so Reverdy producers in the Loire, but it's Hippolyte Reverdy to look out for. With a history stretching back to the 1600s, the current generation are doing their ancestors proud by continuing to produce small scare Sancerre with great respect for the land and the traditions of the region.
