Meet the Makers: Payten & Jones // Wednesday 1st October 2025 // VG Shop Floor
- Available
- Backordered, shipping soon
Straight out of Victoria's Yarra Valley, Payten & Jones are not your typical Aussie winemakers. Forget big, burly and polished wines as these guys are all about wild ferments, minimal intervention and letting the vineyard and grapes do the talking. Their wines have real character, are a touch edgy but full of energy.
Allegedly the only two (literate) students to Graduate Healesville High School 1997, these two were always destined to work together. Behn (the Payten) drove his first Tractor at the age of 5. Troy (the Jones) was talking by the age of 1 and hasn’t shut up since. Naturally they fell in with the wrong crowd, and became heavily involved in the wine industry.
Join us, with team VG, as Payten & Jones pour their latest releases, sharing stories from the vineyard and giving you a first-hand taste into why Yarra Valley is one of the most exciting regions in Australia right now.
If you're a fan of our Funky & Exotic section in the shop... this is one tasting you really don’t want to miss!

- We adore our wonky old building. All we regret is that the staircase to our first floor WC and tasting room is not forgiving and as such rules us out from being accessible. Sorry for the inconvenience it may cause.
- Please note that we kindly ask attendees not to wear strong aftershave or perfume for the event. This sounds like a silly request, but we try and keep our tasting room as a controlled environment so that only the wine fumes invade our nostrils.
