Pizarra (Spanish for slate) comes from three top sites, including the tough, no-nonsense Arrebatacapas. These low-yielding vines may not be big on quantity, but they definitely bring the quality, delivering a wine that’s all about bold aromatics, a velvety texture, and crunchy tannins. On the nose, it’s an elegant mix of violets, lavender, and a mix of red and black fruit, with a balsamic twist and a distinct mineral edge. Take a sip, and you’ll get a medium-to-full-bodied beauty that’s broad yet precise, with refined tannins and a finish that just keeps going.
