This wine was awarded the "Best-Value Red Wine Trophy" by the Wine Merchant Top 100, 2025. Very rightly so. Absolutely delicious, ripe and juicy red with so much joy and energy. Soft, round and smooth with flavours of dark cherry, plum and vanilla. This is so food friendly, from hearty stews, to aged cheeses, to grilled lamb or chorizo.

Named after the historic heir to the throne of Navarra, Príncipe de Viana is a winery that blends deep regional heritage with forward-thinking winemaking. Founded in 1983 as a project to support sustainable agriculture in Navarra, the estate has grown into one of the region’s leading producers known for quality, innovation, and a strong sense of place.

With nearly 900 hectares under vine, their vineyards span everything from ancient plots to chalky plateaus near the Ebro and Aragón rivers. Long summers, cool nights, and the famous Cierzo wind create the perfect environment for expressive, balanced wines. Sustainability is central to their ethos, from night harvesting to clever winemaking techniques like freezing grape skins to enhance aroma and structure, while keeping interventions light.

Their wines reflect Navarra’s unique climate and soil, but also its history: a region of noble lineage, dramatic landscapes, and bold ideas. Tradition, continuity and modern precision all come together here, making Príncipe de Viana a brilliant ambassador for this often-overlooked corner of northern Spain.
