A proper crowd-pleaser of a red, made from 100% Garnacha grown in the hills of Navarra where the nomadic shepherds (trashumantes) once roamed. Bright, juicy raspberry fruit leads the way, with a gentle touch of spice on the finish to keep things lively. It’s medium-bodied, smooth and supple, with mild tannins and just enough freshness to make it seriously drinkable. No oak, no fuss. Just pure, fruit-driven charm in a bottle. The kind of wine you’ll want on hand for midweek dinners, pizza nights, or any time you need something easy, tasty and reliably good. A total bargain for the quality.
Named after the historic title given to the heirs of the Kingdom of Navarra, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana blends centuries of local heritage with a distinctly modern approach to winemaking. Founded in 1983 as a flagship project of the region’s agricultural cooperative, the winery has grown into one of Navarra’s leading producers—known for its innovation, quality and deep respect for the land.
The estate farms over 890 hectares of vineyard, including ancient bush vines and more recent plantings on a chalky plateau where the Aragón and Ebro rivers meet. This spot enjoys a rare climate mix—Mediterranean warmth, Atlantic freshness, and the cooling influence of the fierce wind, which helps keep the vines healthy and disease-free. The soils are low in nutrients but rich in character, encouraging deep roots and complex wines.
Night harvesting preserves delicate aromatics, and their unique skin-freezing technique (freezing the grape skins but not the pulp) enhances structure, aroma, and colour. Sustainability is central to everything they do, from careful water management to maintaining freshness and balance in the wines.
Príncipe de Viana wines are an expression of Navarra’s terroir, history and progressive spirit—rooted in tradition, but always moving forward. A brilliant benchmark for what this underrated region can offer.
