About The Producer
Viñedos Lo Abarca is Felipe Marín’s project within the Casa Marín family estate in coastal Lo Abarca, in Chile’s San Antonio Valley. Its vineyards are shaped by cool Pacific breezes and limestone-rich soils with marine deposits, producing wines with freshness and definition.
Winemaking Information
From the low-yielding Tierras Blancas vineyard, planted in 2011. Hand-harvested in the third week of April. A blend of 74% Garnacha and 26% Syrah, destemmed and crushed, then spontaneously co-fermented with two pump-overs daily. Extended post-fermentation maceration for five months was followed by 18 months in used French oak barrels on the fine lees. Low-intervention winemaking, with no acid adjustment or chaptalisation. Residual sugar: 1.7 g/l; pH: 3.4; acidity: 6.2 g/l.
