Why You'll Love It
Properly dry sparkling rosé with crisp berry fruit and just enough biscuit complexity from traditional-method ageing. The Pinot Noir gives fresh red fruit, while Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc keep things lively. Excellent with smoked salmon or canapés.
About The Producer
Albert Doulet is a family wine estate rooted in Limoux, a historic centre of sparkling-wine production in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The project takes its name from Albert Doulet, born in nearby Carcassonne in 1895, and is now run by three of his great-grandsons. Limoux has a long sparkling-wine tradition, often traced to the monks of Saint-Hilaire in the sixteenth century. The area's cooler upland conditions allow Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir to ripen while retaining the acidity essential to fine bubbles. The Doulet family combines this regional heritage with the traditional method, producing Crémants that balance fresh orchard fruit with the biscuit and brioche character developed through bottle ageing. Its white and rosé wines offer an accessible, food-friendly alternative to Champagne without sacrificing craftsmanship.
Winemaking Information
The published Albert Doulet Crémant de Limoux Rosé NV is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 30% Chenin Blanc. A traditional-method second fermentation in bottle creates its fine mousse and light brioche notes. The precise ageing period and ABV for this exact rosé release have not been confirmed in the available supplier information.
