About The Producer
Azienda Agricola Cortese is an organic estate near Vittoria in south-eastern Sicily, part of the wider Stefano Girelli wine group. It focuses on Sicily's native grapes, with carefully tended vineyards and restrained cellar work. The Nostru range highlights the individual character of varieties such as Carricante.
Winemaking Information
100% organically grown Carricante from vineyards near Vittoria at approximately 400 metres above sea level, trained and pruned to control yields. Hand-harvested in early September, then destemmed and softly pneumatic-pressed. The must is cold-settled for around 48 hours, fermented at approximately 17–19°C and matured on fine lees for at least five months, with regular bâtonnage. The producer's general sheet does not confirm a 2024-specific ABV.
