About The Producer
Diamantakis Winery is a family-owned estate in the hills of Heraklion, Crete, where brothers Andreas and Ioannis Diamantakis combine generations of agricultural experience with a modern approach to winemaking. Working sustainably across vineyards planted at altitude, the family champions both indigenous and international grape varieties, believing the island's diverse soils and cooling mountain influences can produce wines of remarkable freshness and elegance. Their Prinos range perfectly captures this philosophy - approachable, expressive wines that showcase a more contemporary side of Greek wine while remaining unmistakably Cretan.
Winemaking Information
The Chardonnay and Malvasia di Candia Aromatica are harvested separately from vineyards in the hills of Crete before each variety undergoes its own vinification. Following a short cold maceration to enhance aromatics, fermentation takes place at around 17°C in stainless steel tanks. The wines spend approximately three months ageing on their fine lees before blending and bottling, adding texture while preserving the freshness and vibrant fruit that define this Mediterranean white.
