Why You'll Love It
An exuberantly aromatic French white, combining Muscat, Gewürztraminer and other fragrant grapes. Despite the perfume and tropical fruit, the palate is dry, lifted and wonderfully versatile with fragrant Asian food.
About The Producer
Lionel Osmin & Cie champions the distinctiveness of south-west France, working with local growers and lesser-known varieties as well as classic grapes. La Baie Orientale brings together aromatic grapes traditionally associated with regions further east.
Winemaking Information
The producer describes Muscat, Muscadelle, Gewürztraminer, Viognier and Riesling grown on clay-limestone soils in IGP Comté Tolosan. Fruit is gently pressed and fermented cool in tank without malolactic fermentation to retain intense floral aromatics. Some 2024 listings also specify a small amount of Pinot Gris; exact proportions and ABV vary between sources.
