Why You'll Love It
This is one of Sicily's benchmark natural white wines, made by the natty Pied Piper, Arianna Occhipinti.
Beautifully aromatic with remarkable freshness and drinkability, thanks to some altitude. Zibibbo brings lifted notes of orange blossom, citrus peel and Mediterranean vibes, while the rare indigenous Albanello adds a gentle texture, subtle stone fruit, thyme and fennel, and a saline edge. Despite its uber expressive nose, the palate remains dry, energetic and balanced.
A marvel to behold as an aperitif with a group of equally natural wine literate as you, dear reader. Or a spectacular partner to most seafood, but octopus and swordfish would be particularly special.
SP68 is a brilliant introduction to Arianna Occhipinti's philosophy of producing wines that speak so clearly of where they come from.

About The Producer
Arianna Occhipinti has become one of the defining figures in contemporary Sicilian wine. She began her own estate in Vittoria in 2004, in her early twenties, determined to show what local grapes and careful farming could achieve without the heavy-handed extraction once associated with the island. Inspired in part by her uncle Giusto Occhipinti of COS, she developed a distinctive approach rooted in organic, biodynamic viticulture, indigenous yeasts and gentle cellar work. Her vineyards stand on the red sands and limestone of the Iblean hills, where Frappato, Nero d'Avola, Zibibbo and Albanello offer freshness, fragrance and a strong identity. SP68 takes its name from the road passing the estate and captures the immediate, approachable side of her work. Today Occhipinti is recognised internationally for wines of character, energy and real individuality, and for helping change perceptions of Sicily's native varieties.
Winemaking Information
SP68 Bianco is made from Muscat of Alexandria (Zibibbo) and Albanello grown on the calcareous red sands around Vittoria. The estate's published reference blend is approximately 60% Muscat and 40% Albanello, although proportions can change between releases. Fruit from organically certified, biodynamically farmed vineyards is fermented with indigenous yeasts and roughly 15 days of skin maceration, then spends around six months in concrete and a further month in bottle, without filtration.
