About The Producer
Bodegas Luis Cañas has helped shape modern Rioja Alavesa, drawing on family vineyards that have been cultivated for generations. The estate traces its winery roots to 1928 and is especially respected for its detailed work across high-altitude, chalky-clay parcels beneath the Sierra de Cantabria. The result is Rioja with an appealing balance of fruit, structure and freshness.
Winemaking Information
Made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha grown in Rioja Alavesa. The wine undergoes controlled fermentation and malolactic fermentation in tank before at least 12 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by a further 12 months of bottle ageing. The 2022 technical sheet specifies 13.8% ABV.
