About The Producer
Caves de Juliénas-Chaintré is a progressive cooperative representing around 85 growers across southern Burgundy and Beaujolais. Established over a century ago, the winery has earned a reputation for producing wines that consistently outperform their price point by focusing on exceptional vineyard sites and meticulous winemaking. Today, the cooperative farms over 240 hectares and is committed to sustainable viticulture through High Environmental Value (HVE) certification, combining traditional Burgundian know-how with modern techniques to produce wines that genuinely reflect their terroir.
Winemaking Information
The Chardonnay for Cuvée Cinq comes from limestone-rich vineyards in the Saint-Véran appellation, at the southern tip of Burgundy's Mâconnais. Following gentle pressing, the juice is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and aromatic purity. The wine then spends several months ageing on its fine lees, building texture and complexity while allowing the vibrant fruit and mineral character of the vineyard to take centre stage.
