About The Producer
Cleto Chiarli founded his winery in Modena in 1860, after the Lambrusco he made for his restaurant became a local success. The Chiarli family helped define Emilia-Romagna's sparkling-wine tradition and later established a modern winery dedicated to high-quality expressions of the region's native grapes. Vecchia Modena is a benchmark bottling of the delicate Sorbara variety.
Winemaking Information
100% Lambrusco di Sorbara from massal-selected vines in the Sozzigalli vineyard near Modena, on clayey-silt soils. Grapes are selected, destemmed and pressed, with the must chilled before controlled fermentation under pressure in stainless steel, retaining natural carbon dioxide. This is a dry, brut-style sparkling wine. The estate reports 11% ABV and recommends serving at 10–12°C.
