About The Producer
Didimi Maghlakelidze is a small grower in the village of Dimi in Imereti, western Georgia, where winemaking remains closely tied to family traditions. Formerly a professional driver, Didimi continued making wine from local grapes and developed a following among lovers of Georgia's independent growers. His Krakhuna celebrates one of the region's oldest varieties, a high-acid grape that can be challenging in Imereti's humid climate. Rather than relying on forceful skin contact, he makes a fragrant, lively white that allows the grape's natural freshness to speak for itself.
Winemaking Information
The 2023 Krakhuna is made from the indigenous white variety grown near Dimi in Imereti. The fruit is pressed without extended skin contact and undergoes spontaneous fermentation, followed by approximately six months of ageing in glass demijohns before bottling. The exact 2023 bottle ABV has not been reliably established from a producer technical sheet, so it should be checked against the label. No qvevri fermentation is asserted for this release.
