About The Producer
Domaine de Boischampt's roots in Jullié stretch back to the seventeenth century. Following a change of ownership in 2018, the estate has renewed its focus on the blue-stone vineyards of northern Beaujolais, with winemaker Thibaud Baudin overseeing a move towards organic farming and detailed, site-led wines. Alongside its expressive Gamay, Boischampt now produces Chardonnay that demonstrates the white-wine potential of these distinctive hillsides.
Winemaking Information
The 2024 Beaujolais-Jullié Chardonnay comes from two hectares of north-east-facing vines planted in 2019–20 on weathered blue-stone soils. The certified-organic fruit was harvested by hand in September 2024, pressed directly and fermented for approximately 24 days. The wine matured for around 11 months in a combination of 500-, 228- and 114-litre barrels and a 40-hectolitre foudre before light filtration and bottling in September 2025.
