About The Producer
Domaine de Boischampt has deep roots in the hillside village of Jullié, with winemaking history stretching back to the seventeenth century. A change of ownership in 2018 brought a renewed focus on the estate's extraordinary blue-stone soils, and winemaker Thibaud Baudin has led the restoration of its vineyards and cellar. Organic certification followed in 2023. Today the domaine makes focused, expressive Gamay with a real sense of place, breathing fresh life into one of Beaujolais' most exciting corners.
Winemaking Information
The 2024 Juliénas is 100% Gamay from parcels planted between 1950 and 1986 on shallow weathered blue-stone soils. Grapes were hand-picked on 19, 25 and 28 September, fermented predominantly as whole bunches without added sulphur, and spent 12–14 days on skins. It aged for 11 months in concrete and was bottled unfiltered in September 2025. The parcels are certified organic.
