Why You'll Love It
Generous Lebanese red without the heaviness. Ripe raspberry and blackberry, a touch of pepper and the fresh lift of high-altitude vineyards make this a brilliant bottle for grilled lamb, spiced chicken or mezze. Easy to enjoy, with plenty of personality.
About The Producer
Massaya is an important part of Lebanon's modern wine revival. Brothers Sami and Ramzi Ghosn rebuilt their family's Tanaïl property in the Bekaa Valley in the 1990s, later collaborating with the Brunier family of Château Vieux Télégraphe and the Hébrard family of Bordeaux. Today Massaya works across the Bekaa and Mount Lebanon, making expressive, characterful wines that reflect high-altitude growing conditions and the country's deep winemaking heritage.
Winemaking Information
The 2022 Le Colombier is a blend of 35% Grenache, 35% Cinsault and 30% Tempranillo from hillside vineyards in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, around 900–1,200 metres above sea level. Grapes are hand-picked and sorted, fully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel for roughly 20–30 days. The emphasis is on juicy fruit and freshness, without a strong oak influence.
