About The Producer
The Plou family has made wine near Amboise on the Loire since 1508. Today Mathieu and Guillaume Plou oversee around 75 hectares, drawing on generations of knowledge of the region's flinty clay and limestone soils. Their wines balance a strong sense of place with straightforward drinking pleasure.
Winemaking Information
Made from 100% Chardonnay grown on the Loire's clay-limestone and flinty soils. A second fermentation in bottle produces fine, persistent bubbles at a gentle pressure of around 2.9 bar. A small proportion of the base wine spends three months in used 500-litre French oak barrels; bottled under crown cap.
