About The Producer
Rafael Palacios established his own winery in Valdeorras, Galicia, in 2004, determined to demonstrate the remarkable potential of Godello. His vineyards lie on steep, high-altitude slopes in the Val do Bibei, where sandy granitic soils and cool nights bring tension and precision to the wines. He works sensitively with the old terraces and individual plots, and has become one of Spain's most respected white-wine producers.
Winemaking Information
Louro do Bolo 2023 is predominantly Godello with a small proportion of Treixadura, reported by specialist vintage listings as approximately 92% and 8%. The fruit comes from small parcels around O Bolo in Valdeorras on sandy decomposed granite at elevations generally above 600 metres. Grapes are hand-picked and pressed before fermentation with native yeasts in large French oak foudres. The wine matures approximately four months on fine lees before bottling. ABV: 14%.
