About The Producer
Dorli Muhr has been instrumental in showing how elegant and age-worthy Blaufränkisch from Austria's Spitzerberg can be. Her vineyards around Prellenkirchen, on the slopes above Carnuntum, are farmed with a particular focus on healthy soils and minimal intervention. Rather than heavy extraction, her wines favour perfume, fine tannins and the limestone-driven tension that gives this part of eastern Austria its identity.
Winemaking Information
Samt & Seide is 100% Blaufränkisch from multiple parcels on the southern slopes of the Spitzerberg, including vines around 15 to 35 years old on limestone soils. The grapes are selectively hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with gentle extraction. The wine is matured in large used wooden casks before bottling, preserving its floral lift and refined texture.
